Money, Money, Money

              

You need money in your life to buy things or you would be homeless.  I don’t have that much money but if you will get a lot of money  when you get a job.  Sometimes people travel to places and go play music to get money or people steal money from people, banks or places.  Many of the people in the world find valuables and sell it on Ebay or in stores.  I buy many things that sometimes waste money. I think scientists creating structures that cost like 2 million dollars will get rich.  

Monopoly and Game of Life have money in it but different kinds of money have higher bills and lower bills.  Monopoly used to have paper money now they changed it to plastic, money can look like the real money and use it.

 Having too much money is quite bad because you can’t hold that much money on you, like in some games you can hold 20 million dollars on one person.  If you have too much money you can buy so many things you will run out of money .  Too much money is bad thing because you won’t know what to do with it.

SUMMER

Summer is my favourite season. l like summer because you can do a lot of things like riding bikes, going skateboarding, swimming outdoors, jumping on trampolines and lots of other things. l also like summer because of the hot weather. Summer is a good season because you can get tasty food that your parents might not buy in the other seasons.

ln the summer you can go camping. Let me tell you about the outdoor camps my family has been to, we have been to:Jasper, manitou lake, kelowna, dinosaur park… lt was very fun, or is going to be very fun. Summer is a fun season. l love it.

Monsters

First of all, monsters can look like anything you can imagine. Monsters can have wings, horns, tails, teeth, no teeth, eyes, no eyes and anything else you can imagine. Monsters are basicly anything you can imagine or draw. They could have any features, shape, size or form.

Monsters don’t just look different, they also have different personalities. Some can be mean, some can be kind and some can be both. They don’t have to mean or kind, they can have what ever personalities you can think of. Some can look scary, some can look kind, some can look weird.

I like scary monsters, and I also love drawing them. It is fun to draw monsters because you can add anything you like. A drawing of a monster can’t be a bad drawing because every single monster can look different. Your monster can be super detailed or just a random shape, yet both are still monsters.

If I were to draw a monster it would have giant dragon wings, a small, scaly body, 3 eyes, a circular mouth with 10 sharp teeth (5 on the top and 5 on the bottom) and Giant, razor sharp claws.

Be my Valentine here, there or anywhere!

Valentine's day is coming up and  I decided to write about it.Lots of people celebrate valentine's day because it is a day where everyone can show how much they love someone .All countries have different traditions and celebrations for Valentine's day .   Some  examples are in Mexico.   They have a concert in the country and sell flowers chocolate and handmade cards.   They sell out  like crazy my dad went to Mexico  in november and they were already selling!Just like on christmas they exchange gifts .

In India people celebrate in a completely different way .What they do is that one boy and one girl get together  and have a party. Some boys  may ask girls on a date  or  even propose if they are old enough .In India some people tie a knot  to show a long and lovely relationship .Just like in most places  they also give out cards, flowers ,heart shaped chocolates and  candies to their loved ones.This is also a major festival that means gift shops and malls are super busy.

The last country I’ll be talking about is Brazil. In Brazil instead of celebrating on February 14 they celebrate  on the 12 of June .In Brazil  they call valentine's day  ‘’Dia dos Namorados’’.They also have a huge festival.   At the festival there's lights, shows,concerts ,dancing and foods

Birthday Traditions

Everyone in the world has a special day for themselves. In some countries it is names days, where each name has a day (or two or three) that is shown on a calendar and that day is ,as their birthday. If the person is not born exactly on that day, it is the closest to their birthday. Someone in these countries still has a birthday just doesn’t celebrate it. In other places in the world the they just celebrate the day you were born because that is the tradition in most countries. It is interesting how each country has one,two, three or more!

As most of us know there is a different way of saying happy birthday in each language. Some cool ways I think of saying happy birthday are; in Afrikaans :Veels geluk met jou verjaarsdag, Brazil: Feliz aniversario,Feliz Aniversario, Catalan: bon aniversari, Dutch: Hartelijk gefeliciteerd metje verjaardag,Estonian: Palju onne sunnipaevaks!. They are all cool and most you could understand with your own knowledge of english. There are also different traditions. In the world now there is not as much strength in the culture of celebrating the birthday in a special or grouped way as our ancestors did. Now in some countries they celebrate just a party. The traditions are quite different from country to country(even in the same continent) and quite a few have lots of things that represent the hope of a long life. Here are some traditions: in new zealand they sing happy birthday and clap for each of the years that person is celebrating and then one extra for good luck. In holland when the gift is wrapped in black or white that is considered bad luck. A japanese tradition  is a shichi-go-san festival(seven-five-three festival,seven,five and three are the most important). In Russia the birthday child often doesn’t receive a cake but a pie! Comic Books

                                    

  Some people like to call them Graphic Novels and other people call the comics. I think comics are cool because you can read and look at the funny pictures at the same time. My favourite comic books are all of the Garfields, all of the Bones and all the Amulets. I don’t like reading graphic novels that much, but I do like reading books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries. I don’t like reading thick thick books that much but sometimes I like to read them when my sister is having a fit or when she is annoying me and won’t be quite. My sister can read comic books but some words she can't read and needs help with. My mom and dad love comic books, they even have a room where you read comic books with a couch to read on.                                                                            

Sometimes adults don’t like comic books because there is no knowledge in it, but it actually is not supposed to because it is for people to enjoy and to sit back and read. Some kids don’t like comic books and think it is dumb to have comic books but at least some people like them.

Endangered Animals

If an animal species goes endangered I would do as much as I could to save it. Sadly, scientists believe that for some animals it’s too late ex. Hawksbill turtle. The Hawksbill turtle is critically endangered because it has almost been hunted to extinction for it’s “tortoiseshell.” Tourists are another reason: they step on nests, step on babies while they're on their way to the water, and if babies fall into a sand castle they dry up. Usually only one of one thousand turtles survives. The Black soft shelled turtle, on the other hand, live in one pond by a religious shrine in Bangladesh. The remaining 400 turtles survive on food given to them by the visitors. To rescue the species scientists are trying to protect the turtles from disease.

Now, if an animal is extinct, that doesn't always mean it doesn’t exist any more. It just means it doesn’t exist in the wild. The Przewalski’s horse can only be found in captivity. It is much smaller than other horses. The last time it has been seen in the wild was in 1968. The remaining 1200 horses can be found in zoos, private preserves, and protected areas in Mongolia. Some groups of captive-bred horses have been released in the wild. Another extinct animal is the Quagga. It does not live in captivity. It was believed to be a separate breed that was hunted to extinction. Recent DNA tests prove the Quagga was actually a brown and white plains zebra. Some zoos and nature reserves produced a Quagga-like creature that will soon be reintroduced into the the wild.

Rabbits and Hares are also endangered for example the Amami rabbit, the Volcano rabbit, and the Hispid hare. The Amami rabbit is threatened because of habitat destruction. it is found on two islands. Only 2000 remain. The Japanese protect the rabbit and call it a “natural monument.” You can only find the Volcano rabbit in pine forests near the peaks of several volcanoes near Mexico City. Its fur blends in well with the volcanic soil. This area is now under pressure from logging and overgrazing from sheep. The Hispid hare is one of the world’s rarest mammals and was once thought to be extinct. Today 100 live in the southeastern Himalayan foothills. The future of the Hispid hare will be threatened by habitat destruction and hunting.

An animal that’s at lower risk is the Andean mountain cat, it is a solitary animal that lives in the central Andes. This cat is much more sensitive to sound than any other cat. It’s considered endangered for its rarity. Another animal that is considered endangered for its rarity is the Night parrot but unlike the Andean cat it is so rare that it is critically endangered. The Night parrot is so rare that in the last 100 years it has only been sighted a few times (about once every 10 years) Sightings even get reported in newspapers. It is not clear how many are scattered across the Australian outback-probably 50 or less. Farming and introducing predators such as cats and dogs have reduced the number of Night parrots. Another parrot that is critically endangered is the Kakapo, a  flightless parrot  that is found in New Zealand. It didn’t have any natural predators until human settlers introduced cats, rats, and dogs which caused a big decline in the Kakapo population. A captive breeding program has saved the species. The remaining 62 birds have been released on three predator free islands.

A critically endangered animal that doesn't live far from here is the Black footed ferret. The Black footed ferret once lived in the Rockies and Great Plains, where it was a predator to prairie dogs. When the prairie dog almost got extinct, for farmers saw them as pests, the Black footed ferret was thought to be extinct, until 1981 when a small group of ferrets was discovered in Wyoming. This species was saved by this population and the captive breeding program.

The Ocelot is a medium sized forest predator that lives in the tropical rainforest of South America in the 20th century millions of these cats were killed for their fur until an international treaty protected the Ocelot. But it is still threatened by habitat destruction.

Even my two favorite animals are endangered: the Giant panda, and the Lesser panda. The Giant panda is and has always been a rare animal. It lives in the mountain forests of central China. This bear-like animal has almost been hunted to extinction for its fur. Habitat destruction has also threatened them. Although there are laws to protect them, there are about 1000 left in the wild. The Lesser or red panda is related to the racoon. It lives in forests in the Himalayan foothills. It eats mainly bamboo leaves like a distant relative the Giant panda. Environmental changes threaten the Lesser panda. Captive-bred pandas have been released back in the wild.

The most important way to win the fight to save endangered species is education. The more people understand, the easier it is for us to save them.

Christmas Traditions

Since it is the last week before Christmas break I decided to write about CHRISTMAS! All around the world countries celebrate Christmas differently. For example Austria(like what other country would I mention!). Austrians have Kristkind(Christ Child) instead of Santa. I also have Kristkind but not only Kristkind I also get presents from Santa Lucia(LOO-CHEE-a.) Santa Lucia is from Italy. She doesn't come to my house but we go to a friend of my grandpa’s House.

Okay, so that is who I get presents from Christmas time. Now lets talk about other countries...Well in China only some people are Christian so they do what we do put up a Christmas tree but in Chinese Santa Claus is ‘Shen dan lao ren’. In Mexico Christmas is Celebrated from Dec.12-Jan.6(Two days before my B-day!)  Swiss like to wear crowns on their heads and everyone has Advent calendars. In the UK(or great britain) they put up a Christmas tree(or even 2!) and instead of Santa Claus they have Father Christmas. Oh and I almost forgot Jewish families celebrate Chanukkah(Hanukkah.)

Christmas Specials

During Christmas time there are a lot of Christmas specials on TV.  Some of them are classics like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Garfield, Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman and Elf. There are a lot of other movies that I can not remember off the top of my head. Those movies are more commonly seen/watched around Christmas.

This will be off topic but 79% of the kids are focused on the gifts not the family time and movies. They all just stare at the gifts shake them listen to them if they’re allowed.  Some kids are so bad that they sleep beside the tree until Christmas and wake up Christmas morning. Some kids don't even get presents but still people don't care.

Now back to the topic, If I were to make a Christmas special it would be about a doughnut named Arnold Candy cane who has to rescue Bob Bell his best bro while the towns people try to bombard him with Christmas decorations.

Hobby

My favourite hobby is dance. Dance is a beautiful art. I think I will dance for the rest of my life.

Mostly because I think I’m good at it, and because when I dance I start to smile. I dance four times a week. On Mondays I dance ballet and jazz. Later in the day on Thursday I dance ballet choreo, ballet tech, and lyrical. On Fridays I dance musical theater. And on Saturdays I dance jazz and acro. My favourite type of dance is jazz, because I think I have a lot of personality. I’m pretty sure I get all of my personality from my sister. 

Dance is the only hobby I do, because I quit soccer and I quit gymnastics. It was hard to quit gymnastics. But quitting soccer was like a piece of cake. I don’t care though now because I think that’s how I got better at dance. My goal with dancing is to always get better and better. Because if I work even harder and harder every time. Usually in dance class we have one big prize and a ton of small prizes.This year she is trying to give out a rainbow sock monkey. Another one of my goals is to do a side aerial and a rollover pretzel. If I succeed them I will move on to another goal.

Hope

What is Hope you may ask? Hope is a feeling that what is wanted or is likely to happen. To want something to happen or be true and think it could happen.

Hope is important in life. Hope is a way of showing that you care for others.Hope is a way of showing to never give up.You should show hope to people and elders of your family and others.If you don’t show hope that means you haven’t lived that much.Always show hope to people you love and like.

I show hope to people I like and love!do you show hope to people you like and love? I even show hope to people I don’t even know . Everybody should show hope to at least some people.I think you should show hope to everybody that you like and love.

Sports

I think sports are very important to your life. Sports help keep you healthy, they are fun to play and keep you fit.

My favorite sport is hockey. I like to play hockey because it is fun, fast moving and you can play with lots of people. Hockey I can play almost any time. I also can play it competitively, in a league. I play for North Seara and I am in the age level Atom. Atom is for ages 9-10.

It is also good to have someone who teaches you and someone you can look to for help in that sport. It can be a coach or a family member. My Dad helps me with hockey. He is the assistant coach for my team this year. He also gives me tips for hockey  and helps me get better at it. Lots of times I also play with my brother, even though he is way better than me, he helps me get better to.

Sports may sometimes be hard, but they can also be very fun.

Respect is really important for everyone. You should respect everyone and especially your dad & mom.  
You should not only respect them, you should respect everyone in this world who is older than you. If you respect someone in your life, life would be a lot nicer and you will be so much happier.  If you respect everyone the kids will learn something from you and then they will respect you so please respect everyone.  You parents will be so happy with you and be proud of you. And if you see someone older than you  and you see them trying to cross a road then help them out of respect. I really respect my granparents and parents because they really care for me and by showing love and kindness.

Stress

Stress is something that many people get, when something odd happens and it affects things in your body. Some of the feelings that you feel can cause stress in many ways.

You can get stress from your job your friends can even make you feel some stress and can even help you face the stress. Stress causes anger,crying,depression,hungry,thirsty and many more serious feelings that you may feel. Stress can even make you not hungry or not thirsty.Stress is a powerful thing it can make and do many things to you and your body.

Sometimes Stress can really really hurt someone.

You can help yourself handle Stress in many ways like eating,drinking,being active and much more.you can do so much to help you and your friends to take care of Stress.When I was about 1 ½ my mom and dad had been divorced and it was a hard time for me and since then I have felt a lot of stress and I know how to take care and to handle it, for it is easy for me to handle it but for some people it is very hard and I am not putting out any names but some people in the class are feeling some stress and I believe that we can help them handle stress.

What Did You Do Over The Weekend?

What I did over the weekend was REALLY fun.  I went to my dad’s farm that my Baba owns, and I did lot’s of stuff there.  Since my dad is going to be there every weekend now, I thought that I might as well go with him too.  I’ve got nothing else better to do, so like I said I might as well.  So, let’s get into what I did this weekend:

Like I said, I went to my dad’s farm and did lots of stuff there.  When we arrived, we spray painted a fort that we made the weekend before that. (We were going to use the fort to hunt in because it would be more comfortable than just laying down and standing up on the wet grass).  We spray painted it camoflauge (we just used a lot of colors, not an actual bottle of spray paint colored camouflage) so it can blend in with all of the trees and the other stuff behind it.  So we spray painted that, the we had to get it to our hunting spot.  That took quite a while, like two hours or something like that, but it was still reasonably fun.  We got it there by using a skid steer ( which I will explain in a moment), my dad’s truck and a trailer.  A skid steer is a heavy duty machine that is similar to a forklift but bigger and better.  My dad was the one who was controlling the skid steer, and two other people were driving the truck.  My dad lifted the fort up with the two forks (the big things that you use to lift up the object, not the forks that you eat with) on the skid steer up onto the trailer and then we strapped the fort down on the trailer.  We strapped the fort down because we didn’t want it to fly off when we were trying to get it to our hunting spot.  So we did that, and then set it down onto the ground.

My dad had to drive the skid steer to the hunting area, so… I did something fun.  I drove the skid steer back to our farm.  Those things are so fun to drive, I want one of my own.  So I got into the heavy duty machine and it looked really cool inside.  There was two joystick things two move it, and there was also lots of buttons.  My dad sat down in it first and then I sat in his lap.  My dad told me how to drive it.  It’s actually quite simple.  The left joystick is to move, and the right joystick is to control the forks.  I didn’t use the forks for anything, but it was still fun to drive.  You move by pushing forward or backward on the joystick thing.  To move forwards, you push forwards.  To move backwards, you pull backwards.  You can also turn side to side (I don’t know which vehicle wouldn’t) by pulling left or right.  So, I drove back to the farm and then we went and practiced our aim with our guns.  (Me and my brother didn’t, but the adults were).  We have a long private shooting range which is actually quite handy.  We use it to practice our aim.  It’s just common sense, like why else wouldn’t we have a shooting range.  Anyway, to keep ourselves occupied, (me and my brother), we drove around some of the fields that we own.  We drove around the perimeter so we wouldn’t wreck the crops..  We did that for like an hour so by then it started to get dark.  We went back to camp and sat around the fire for like 30 minutes.  After those 30 minutes, we went scouting to see how big of does and deer we could find.  I was the youngest one there, so I found the most.  (I still have young eyes).  when we got back it was around 8:30 and we sat around the fire a bit more.  I was really tired when we got back, but I stayed up for like another hour.  After that hour I was REALLY tired after that one hour so I went straight to bed.

Do You Have Wisdom?

Wisdom is something you do not just get, you earn. But in order to earn wisdom, you need to have these things...

Determination, courage, love and bravery. Here are some tips, live, love, laugh, and if you never make a mistake or never embarrass your self you have not really lived at all. Wisdom can be taken away, if you make bad choices or if you stop caring, because sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone. I also know that life is a balancing act if you lean to far to a side you'll fall off and the other side will disappear. So be thankful for what you have because on a day in the near future it might all be gone forever and it will hurt you. Now that you know what wisdom is, how to deal with it and to be careful with it I think you know phase 1 but phase 2 comes from you, and what's on the inside.

 

Now let's talk about life in wisdom, life can not be ignored nor can wisdom, with both of them by you side you can do any thing you can set you mind to. I'm not saying can't now, but it's easier when you have those two with you at all times because if you loose it , it might not come back to you ever. Let's take some time to think of the women and men in you life weather if it's your mom or dad, brother or sister who has share wisdom in your life. For me it was my grand mother she was an amazing women but because of the past she had to battle cancer, lung cancer as I went to se her every day I saw her getting weaker and than on a march day we stopped coming and on st. patricks day my parents informed me she was dead March 2012. So now you know who mine is. Who's yours!

Your most embarrassing moment?

We all get embarrassed at least once in our lives. Sometimes when we are embarrassed, the others around us know why, the other times it may be just us. One of my most embarrassing moments happened when I was at University.

When I was in University, I prided myself in riding a bike to and from school. The bike was green and was given to me by a friend. My generous friend had found it lying in a ditch and decided to gift it to me.....ahem! The main problem was, the bike had really...really bad brakes. So I learned that in order to stop myself while riding I would need to plan my stop as the brakes took about 5 seconds to kick in.

The second week at University I was feeling proud and was 'that kid' too cool for school with my large headphones listening to Coolio. There was a gentle drizzle which turned into rain but again being cool...I had sunglasses on. As I approached the bike stand with about 8 bikes ...I realized by brakes were completely useless, going at about 30km per hour I knew I had about 5 seconds to make a decision on where I wanted to crash. The way I approached gave me two options..one was to ride into a large group of people getting into school, the other much more painful response was a solid iron bike rack. I decided the bike rack?

All that I imagine people going to class saw was a 'cool guy' riding his bike fast only to run in full speed into a bike rack, fall over the handle bars going  flying on the other side of the bike rack land on his bottom. Headphones where the sunglasses were and vice versa. I was so embarrassed, but I acted like nothing happened (aside from an upside down bike with tires spinning). This was definitely one of my most embarrassing moments, what would be one of your most embarrassing moments?

Summer is approaching quickly and I have started making my list of things that I will need for a perfect summer vacation.  So far, my summer-need list includes: a trampoline, a treat that’s cold (a.k.a. ice cream or Popsicle) a parent that’s willing to drive me to the water park and buy me slushies, a backyard swimming pool (but a public swimming pool may have to do), flip flops, sandals or crocs and lots of friends. That’s what I’ll need for a perfect summer, what’s on your list?

Would you like a superpower?

If you could choose to have any kind of superpowers what would it be and why it would be cool? If I had superpowers I would like to have the power of invisibility or flying.
