My Biggest Journey

Hi everyone, When I came to Canada  I was only 4 years old . It was a big adventure and my first time on an airplane. The entire journey from my hometown in Germany to Calgary and then to Edmonton took  around 24 hours. By the end of the trip we were all exhausted. It was hard to find new friends but of course I found some that always have my back. The hardest of all was to fit in and learn the culture because I didn’t speak a word of English at that age. Now after almost 6 years everything is fine and I can speak English. So  if you ever had to move  to a different country where would you go and what would you not like about it?

  1. If I went to a different country I would not be happy :(.It would suck because I would have to leave my friends.I already left two friends that were on my cruise. So I know what you felt like leaving your other friends. So if I did move away,I would force my mom to move back.

  2. If I had to move to a different country I would move back to my home town, Germany. What I would love about it is that I would be back where I was born and I would be back with my friends and family. Something I wouldn't like about it is that I would lose all my friends and family that live in Canada. I would have to learn different things. It would take me a long time to catch up. But why would I chose Germany over all the other places in the world? Well it doesn't have volcano's and it still has snow. Overall Germany is just where I came from.

  3. I would move to Maui,Hawaii. It would be cool to live there, I could go to the beach every day. Some of the disadvantages are that there would be a lot of tourists and that I wouldn't have any friends.

  4. I actually may move to England with my uncle at around the age of 16. I have only gone to England once before I actually really want to move to England the only bad part about it is that most of my friends are probablly going to stay in canada so I wont know anyone but my uncle (Alex) and his girlfriend .Thats the really bad part but the good part is I get to see my uncle more and my mom,dad and brothers are provably going to England once a year same with my oma. Also they speak english so I wont need to learn a new language

  5. I am glad you feel that way about your friends captain and I am sorry that it was hard for you in the beginning and the fact of you making friends is no surprise:). I would hate to go to china and learn that difficult language and I would love it if I could get a Australian accent or a whales accent.

  6. I think it is so amazing that you decided to write about you moving and telling everyone about your life and your friends. It special to be born in another country and have two languages and cultures. If I had to move somewhere it would be France. I would like to move to France because they have so many attractions. Except for one time when my mom went there and she couldn't speak French, so the people there would not let her speak English in her hotel. This would not be the way I would want to spend a vacation.

  7. Sweet post captain. I would probably want to go to Paris. I go to Paris to but the consequences are I don´t know French because I am German. But I would love to live near the Eiffel tower. Another consequences would be leaving all my family, friends, teachers and classmates. Now that I think about it I would never, ever, ever want to move from my home town.

  9. Although I was born and raised Edmonton I can see why moving over the Atlantic or to the other side of the world would pose such a big problem. Not only are you probably moving to a country with a different language and culture.

  11. Nice post Captain. If I got to move to a different country I would move to Italy. I would not like not knowing the correct language and leaving everyone I know. That must have been hard moving away.

  12. If I had to move to a different country, I would move to Pakistan. I would not be used to the heat and the crowd. I also will not be able to speak the language. Nice job captain, by the way. Very original.
